Among the many festivals and exhibitions that we’ve been having now days, here’s one that’ll appeal to the softer side of people. India Design ID 2016 which is a week-long event that got underway on 05th February, 2016 with some sub-events at the various design districts will dovetail into the Exhibition proper at NSIC Grounds, Okhla on the weekend from 12th to 14th February 2016.
The exhibition aims to display the creativity of both fledgling as well as well-entrenched designers / design labels. The main purpose of the exhibition is to serve the design ecosystem of the country by uplifting the gen-next talent pools and businesses in the sector. What is showcased here is truly a wide canvas of creativity of designers/ labels which includes various aspects like installation, lighting, products, interiors, architecture and conversations.
The event is organised in three formats: the Exhibit ID, ID Symposium and ID Satellite. The idea is to get the various players in the design fraternity to come and share their knowledge, experiences and achievements on a common platform, through these various formats and events therein.
- Exhibit ID: This is scheduled form 12th Feb to 14th Feb ’16 and is the marquee event. This shall be open to all and plans to show case the crème a la crème of Home décor and designs. The most coveted brands & labels will grace the venue with their individual booths, trend galleries, et al, show casing the best of the best. An add-on will be a curated montage of contemporary craft and budding designers.
- ID Symposium: This will be held on 12th and 13th Feb ’16. It is a series of conferences, which will include panel discussions and talks by the most well-known designers and experts on the subject. The aim will be to hit two birds with one stone in the way of inspiring designers and at the same time offering a networking opportunity within the design fraternity. The speakers are also chosen from various fields to provide an all-round perspective on design. They include Amit Syngle, Ashiesh Shah, Ayaz and Zameer Basrai, Bijoy Jain, Dominique Jean-Lavabre, Fernando Menis, Greg Reaves, India Mahdavi, Verendra Wakhloo, among others.
- ID Satellite: This was started on 5th Feb and will go on till 14th. The idea is to create a buzz among the design districts of New Delhi. Many events, installations and promotions are being organised as a part of this across venues, thus catapulting New Delhi to the status of the ultimate design hub.
