So here’s a special treat for Kids on Christmas holidays- their very own train ride in Rapid Metro, filled with fun activities, organised by one of their favourite Channels Discovery Kids. So all parents, don’t waste any time and book the next available spot to hop on the “Discovery Kids Joy Express” with your lovely little ones!

Starting from the weekend of 19th December 2015, on every weekend (Saturday and Sunday) kids accompanied with a parent can hop on this ride between 12 pm and 4 pm, a train starting at the start of every hour. Each ride lasts an hour and the train keeps doing rounds on the Rapid metro route. The train does stop on all stations but the doors open only on a few stations and one can get out in an emergency but one can’t really hop-in / hop-off.

The activities organised by Discovery Kids within the train really keeps the kids engaged and they have a lot of fun. There is storey telling with props by a witch or a puppet show, quiz and interaction with kids by a host, art and craft session and the most coveted magic show are just a few of the activities. If this were not enough the most iconic discovery kids super hero- Kisna also joins the festivities in the form of a body suited Mascot. At the end of it, the kids also get gifts and if they’ve won a coupon they get something extra. Overall, one can safely say that this is indeed a fun and unique initiative for the budding superstars of millennium city.

The boarding is from Sikanderpur Rapid Metro station and one can also get the tickets there. It is a good idea to reach a little early at the station for the targeted ride, as some forms need to be filled. The Discovery Kids Joy Train ride costs Rs 250/- for kids and Rs 100/- for accompanying guardians. This seems to be a steal given the duration and the number of activities and staff deployed to take care of the kids on the train and ensure safety.

The activities are designed by Discovery Kids to reinforce their “smart fun” positioning which is the idea behind their content and marketing/ promotional events. The kids also get opportunity to express themselves and even the Magic Show is participative. The host also roped in one or two adult bystanders to make the kids have fun. This also introduces the kids to Rapid Metro, one of the sustainable public transport models. If the officials are to be believed, Rapid Metro will be extended to the end of Golf Course road by the same time next year.So be sure to try this with your kids and do travel by the metro for the sake of the environment whenever possible and above all be safe.
