Launch of 4th season of Art Walk

Your’s truly witnessed an exclusive art event on 20 November 2015 and the images of those exquisite paintings and powerful caricatures are still fresh in my mind. The event was an art walk organised by Crowne Plaza Today Gurgaon and Artree. This Art walk is a platform for emerging artists to showcase their masterpieces and this one saw the participation of six of the best.

The best part- each artist had given expression to their creativity by choosing a different style. One uses formal training and techniques while another plays with moods and features of individuals. One dedicated her work to Mother Nature and uses unique media while another dedicates her work to divine visions and birds. One links her ancient roots to contemporary callings while another finds himself in the landscapes and the abstract.
Pragati Agarwal curated the show and Mr Sharat Dhall, President, Yatra.com as the chief guest of the event. This was a first of its kind event hosted by Crowne Plaza Today Gurgaon and we hope to see many more events like this. The participating artists were Radhika Surana, Sparsh Kumar, Uma Bardhan, Shradha Bhatia, Rashmi Singh and Aman Sekhon. Hope that all of them are able to cross the chasm and really make it big. Thanks to this initiative, each of these artists will be getting a whole month to showcase their work and interact with all the high profile guests that frequent the Hotel. The names of the artists above are in the order in which they will display their work and the descriptions in the paragraph before that are also in the order of the names, so you can get a glimpse of what to expect.
I interacted with Mrs Uma Bardhan and got a sneak peek at her work. this is hugely inspired by her formative years in Kolkata and her deep belief in spirituality. The paintings bring those deities and subjects to life. Even a mundane Rickshawala intrigues you in Ms Bardhan’s paintings, and I definitely wish to procure one for myself.
So visit Crowne Plaza Today Gurgaon regularly over the next few months and enjoy this opportunity to appreciate art and interact as well as patronise future Ravi Vermas and Tyeb Mehtas.
