Kukoon The Label

Fashionistas gearing up for the upcoming winter  should check out Kukoon the label, a luxury outerwear brand which now retails internationally .I was invited to preview the autumn winter 2015 collection at their office which regretfully was located in Noida. However a friend convinced me to take this arduous car ride and am so glad I did. Luxury not only reflects in the  creations of kukoon but even in their office space. Sneha  Mehta the head honcho was dressed herself in a fuschia kukoon creation which made her look radiant. A techie with a penchant for outerwear , it was capes that inspired her to launch the label. That vision has now spread internationally and she even retails at Dubai, London , etc. The gorgeous Sneha  gleamed over the success of her label which is evident now that its being worn by the who’s who of bollywoowd viz, Priyanka Chopra, Nargis Fakhri, Deepika Padukone, and Kanika kapoor amongst others.

I also got to meet the designers behind the label. A bunch of young excited enthusiastic people who know fashion and are not afraid to experiment. My favourite creation by Gunvin was a peach and green cape that was based on the concept of flowing water , and was strategically embellished as well, while Ravi’s edgier funkier creation were inspired by tribals. The piece de resistance was head designer Asang’s creation which was a fully embellished, blingy yet elegant  off white dress that looked straight out of Moulin rouge but you would still be compelled to wear it to that cocktail dinner.

Sneha’s trademark is the use of  insect’s motifs  and trust me they don’t creep you out, instead they impart an arresting attribute to the clothes .With impeccable tailoring, outstanding creations and every piece being one of its kind, Kukoon is all set to soar higher. For all those wanting to revel in luxurious warmth this season , you know just where to head.
